WAYNETOWN—Roy O. Stephens, 71-year-old former Montgomery County resident, died at 7 a.m. Thursday at the YMCA, 310 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, where he lived and where he had worked the last 15 years. An Indianapolis resident 40 years, he also had been employed by the YMCA at Louisville. Born Aug. 27, 1894 on Rt. 2 Crawfordsville, he was a son of Allen and Margaret Earl Stephens. He attended Crawfordsville High School. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge at Louisville. Survivors include a brother, Earl of Rt. 2 Waynetown; three nieces, Mrs. Mary Rosser of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Mabel Hedrick of Rt. 2 Crawfordsville and Mrs. Dorothy Meadows of Rt. 4 Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed, in 1964; a sister, Mrs. Lida Hudson, who was buried Tuesday, and a nephew, Lloyd. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Servies Funeral Home. Rev. John Servies will officiate and burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
